זֹ֤את תִּֽהְיֶה֙ תּוֹרַ֣ת הַמְּצֹרָ֔ע בְּי֖וֹם טׇהֳרָת֑וֹ וְהוּבָ֖א אֶל־הַכֹּהֵֽן

זאת תהיה תורת המצורע ביום (יד, ב). ראשי תיבות תת זהב, לצדקה. כי הנגעים באים על ידי לשון הרע שעשה מחלוקת והפריד בין אדם לחבירו, וצדקה מביאה שלום (אבות פ”ב מ”ו), אם כן מתקן חטאו, על ידי זה נטהר.
אך לא תאמר שדווקא העשיר המזיל זהב מכיסו יש לו תקנה ורפואה, על זה מרמזים הסופי תיבות תת מעה, דגם מי שאינו יכול ליתן כי אם מעה אחת גם ישיג רפואה. אך טוב מי שלא שמע ליצר הרע לגמרי ולא חטא בלשון הרע, על כן שאר האותיות גימטריה וטוב מגביר הצורה, יצר טוב, על החומר, יצר הרע, לא יבוא עליו צרעת.
“This shall be the law of the leper on the day of his purification…”
The initial letters of the phrase “This shall be the law” spell (זאת תהיה תורת המצורע ביום) תת זהב (Tat Zahav – give gold), for charity . For afflictions come as a result of evil speech, which caused division and separated a man from his fellow.
Charity brings peace (Avos Chapter 2:6), and if so, through charity his sin is rectified and he becomes pure. However, do not say that only the wealthy person who lavishes gold from his pocket has a remedy and a healing; regarding this, the final letters [of the same phrase] hint at the word תת מעה (Give Ma’ah—a small coin).
This teaches that even one who cannot give gold but gives only a single Ma’ah, will also achieve healing. Nevertheless, it is better for one who does not listen to the Evil Inclination at all and does not sin with evil speech. Therefore, the remaining letters [of the phrase] have the numerical value of וטוב מגביר הצורה the Good Inclination prevails over form and matter; then the Evil Inclination shall not come upon him, and he will not be afflicted with leprosy.
