לֹֽא־תִשְׂנָ֥א אֶת־אָחִ֖יךָ בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ הוֹכֵ֤חַ תּוֹכִ֙יחַ֙ אֶת־עֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ וְלֹא־תִשָּׂ֥א עָלָ֖יו חֵֽטְא

הוכח תוכיח את עמיתך ולא תשא עליו חטא (יט, יז). גימטריה אף אתה תקן קומת הויה ולא תראה חוטא. כמו שכתבתי לעיל שמא מהבעל שם טוב זי”ע דחברך רק כמראה הלטושה אשר רואה את עצמך בו, ומי שאין בו החטא מעין זה לא ימצא שיתראה נגד עיניו. (עמ’ סה)
“You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear a sin because of him”.
The Gematria (numerical value) equals: “You too should rectify your own spiritual standing, and then you will not see a sinner.”
As I have written previously in the name of the Baal Shem Tov (may his merit protect us): Your fellow is merely like a polished mirror in which you see yourself. One who does not possess a semblance of that specific sin within themselves will not encounter it appearing before their eyes.
